Stress Relief and Covid-19

Today, December 16, 2020, is my 57th birthday. All days are worthy to give God thanks, but this day is especially awesome. ‘Why” you may ask. Well, I will tell you. Over 3000 people died of Covid-19, today. My name could have been in that number but by the grace of God, it was not. As I drove my mother to her doctor’s appointment in the cold rain, a number of car wrecks were visible along the way, but we were mere spectators.

We have so much to be thankful for. I understand why people are so preoccupied with the everyday demands of life that they just don’t focus on the hidden blessings. Congress and the House are working on a Relief package, millions are still unemployed, educational norms seem to not exist and depression is growing like unpaid bills.

I beg of you, don’t loose hope. Miracles are happening all around you. Meditation is a great stress reliever. Find a place where there are trees, grass and/or flowing water. Close your eyes and listen to nature. The sweet sound of singing birds will put you to sleep. So relaxing! If you don’t want to close your eyes, look at the fall colors of the leaves; green, brown, yellow and crimson. Nature painted each leaf with a broad brush of beauty. So pretty. Relax and let nature put you in another world. A world where only you and God are there. Where God is, peace is, too.
