FREE TO BE ME

“Nothing and no one can ever hold me down. I will forever be a lady and I will forever wear my crown.”

Stimulated and motivated by the every day things, the waving of this flag demanded my attention. Instantly, a poem of freedom and identity began to manifest itself in my head. People want to put others in a box but this poem said “No!” Our past shapes our thoughts and behavior but this poem said “I am what I think I am!” The flag was a symbol of liberation from hurt, hate, anxiety and failure. As it danced on the roof of Home Depot, in my mind, this was a signal for all people to come out in the street and shout for freedom. Nothing anyone has every done to you can hold you captive in fear. Walk out of your emotional prison and don’t look back! This poem “I am Just Me” is your permission slip to create your destiny. You are free to be happy, free to love, free to live your best life. You are FREE!
